A Warm Welcome Back to School from Peace River School Division
To the families, students, and staff of the Peace River School Division,
On behalf of the entire Peace River School Division, it is my great pleasure to extend a very warm welcome back to all of our students and their families.
For our new students and families, we are so glad you've chosen to join our school community. At the PRSD, we take pride in maintaining a culture where learning together is the foundation of everything we do. When we learn together, we grow stronger together—and that collective strength is what helps to ensure success for all students who attend our schools.
The division’s focus is indeed on teamwork. It is about building a Collaborative Response culture so that every student receives the programming they need to succeed. The work is about creating an inclusive and responsive culture through differentiated assessment and differentiated instructional practices that help to ensure all students–not some, many or most, but all students–become more literate, more numerate, and more confident in their learning journeys.
Indeed, I believe the real measure of our organization’s success is the extent to which we foster growth and achievement among our reluctant learners and those with learning challenges. This is how we narrow achievement gaps and maximize classroom, school and divisional success. While this is very hard work, it is also very rewarding because of its transformational nature. When we succeed in our daily work, we transform students, their families and the communities we all live in.
Thank you for your continued trust and support. Here's to a fantastic and successful school year filled with new friendships, great achievements, and memorable moments.
Sincerely,
Dr. Jeff Thompson, Superintendent
Peace River School Division
