The Peace River School Division's Board of Trustees are committed to advocating for the best possible educational experience for each of our students in all of our schools. Recently, the Board has identified six areas of emphasis under their advocacy plan.
- Fair and equitable funding
- Operations and maintenance funding for small rural schools
- Specific solutions for small rural schools, particularly in the area of staffing
- Reliable and secure funding for student mental health supports
- Additional support to ensure our schools remain an inclusive learning environment for all students
- Transportation and safety
The Board plays a crucial role in ensuring these priorities stay top of mind for decision-makers whose choices impact our division. Through consulting with parents, staff, and municipal and provincial leaders, trustees continue advocate on behalf of the PRSD, seeking to influence educational policies and investments to better meet the needs of their communities.
