PRSD Schools raises $11,369.75 for Terry Fox Foundation

The numbers are in! In 2024, PRSD schools raised a combined $11,368.75 for the Terry Fox Foundation. Across Canada, schools raised $14 million dollars.
In the fall, schools organize and participate in annual Terry Fox School Run events. The event looks different at each school, but the goal is the same, to continue Fox's inspirational Marathon of Hope, and continue the fight against cancer.
Over the last 44 years, PRSD schools have raised a total of $382,589.35 for Terry Fox Foundation, through a combined 243 run events. Here are a few highlights from our top fundraising schools.
- Manning Elementary School (Now Manning Aurora Composite School) has facilitated 24 runs, raising a grand total of $65,482.56.
- École Springfield Elementary School has raised $59,449.09 over 20 runs.
- Fairview's E.E. Oliver Elementary School has organized 28 runs and raised $49,684.20
- Fairview High School has raised $46,095.78 across 20 runs.
- Worsley Central School has organized 17 runs and raised $30,985.81
The Terry Fox Foundation recently expressed their gratitude to the PRSD by saying, "Your family of schools sets a shining example of what can be accomplished with a focused goal and a collaborative spirit of generosity and determination."
The year 2025 will mark the 45th anniversary of Terry's Marathon of Hope and we can't wait to see the results of next Fall's fundraising and awareness campaigns.
