Wildfire Update
We have been made aware of a wildfire on the Shaftesbury Trail near Bricks Hill/Shaftesbury Ferry area. Firefighters and emergency responders are currently at the scene and have closed a section of Highway 684 between the junction with Highway 740 and Strong Creek.
In the case of natural emergencies, such as a wildfires, it is the process of the Peace River School Division to take direction from their municipal leaders. In the case of this fire, please watch the Municipal District of Peace for the most up-to-date information.
At this point, we have contacted all of the families of the students affected by the highway closure
