Truth and Reconciliation Week
During Truth and Reconciliation Week (September 27 – October 1, 2021), Peace River School Division (PRSD) schools took steps to recognize and honour residential school survivors, their families and communities. Students and staff took part in various activities relating to residential schools and Indigenous cultures such as writing positive messages to the survivors of residential schools, creating displays of recognition, reading Indigenous stories and writing poetry and wearing orange shirts.
Thank you to our Indigenous Education Program Coordinator, School-based Indigenous Education Leads, community Elders and knowledge-keepers for their passion and support to provide PRSD students with learning opportunities that support Truth and Reconciliation.
