GPCSD and PRSD advocate for Joint-Use Facility in Fairview

FAIRVIEW, Alberta - The Grande Prairie and District Catholic Schools’ (GPCSD) and Peace River School Division’s Board of Trustees each passed a motion adding a new joint-use K-9 facility for GPCSD and K-6 facility for PRSD located within the town of Fairview, Alberta as a priority item on their capital plans. The GPCSD Trustees passed their motion at their regular meeting on December 18, 2023, and the PRSD Board of Trustees met on January 18, 2024 to approve a similar motion.
By ensuring both capital plans include similar priorities, the school divisions are demonstrating to Alberta Education a strong willingness to collaborate on the creation of the best-possible educational facility required to support all students in the Fairview area.
Adding a joint-use facility to their capital plans is step one in a years-long process to have a new, permanent school structure constructed in Fairview.
