The Peace River School Division (PRSD) Calendar Committee met on December 6 to develop a draft of the 2024-2025 PRSD School Calendar. Representatives in attendance included: the Treasurer/Operations Manager of Consiel Scolaire du Nord-Ouest, Superintendent of the Holy Family Catholic Regional Division, Superintendent of the Peace River School Division, Central Operations representative from PRSD, a Grades 7-12 and a Grades K-6 Administrator representative, an ATA representative, and a School Council representative.

In addition to the feedback of the committee, it is important for PRSD to gather input from our students, staff, and parents on the calendar to best meet the needs of our school community.

Below are key dates on the Draft 2024-2025 Calendar and ways you can provide your input.

• August 28, 2024: Staff Meeting/Professional Development
• August 29, 2024: Professional Development (PD) Day/Kick-Off
• August 30, 2024: Staff Meeting/Professional Development
• September 3, 2024: First day for students after Labour Day
• September 20, 2024: PD – Even though September is a busy month, collaboration and sharing early in the year, especially for new staff, is important
• September 30, 2024: National Day for Truth and Reconciliation, Non-Operational Day - the whole week will be Truth and Reconciliation Week
• October 11, 2024:Non-Operational Day
• October 25, 2024: ATA PD Day
• November 11, 2024: Remembrance Day
• December 23, 2024 to January 5, 2025: Christmas Break continues to be positioned to include three weekends
• January 6, 2025: Students return to school after the holidays
• January 31, 2025: PD Day - Due to diploma exams, semester change and preparations for the next semester, this date cannot be changed
• February 18-21, 2025: Families Matter Week
• March 5, 2025: PD Day in the morning, non-operational day in the afternoon (in consideration for the safety of staff traveling to the Teachers’ Convention/EA Convention)
• March 6, 7, 2025: Teachers’ Convention
• March 24-28, 2025: Spring Break
• April 18, 2025: Good Friday
• April 21, 2025: Easter Monday
• April 22, 2025: PD Day – replaces the June PD day. PAT exams are scheduled for June 3-10, then
  Diploma exams begin.
• May 16, 2025: PD Day – positioned to give students a four day weekend
• June 26, 2025: Last day for students
• June 27, 2025: Last day for Staff
