2023 Friends of Education Nominee for ASBA Zone 1
The Peace River School Division is excited to announce that the nominee for the 2023 Friends of Education Award is Clear Hills County. Clear Hills County has been a partner in education for over a decade. Their contributions to education have allowed Worsley Central School, Hines Creek Composite School, and Menno Simons Community School to employ tradespeople to support and enhance the education of our students. Learning from local tradespeople allows our students to understand the dynamics on how to be a successful entrepreneur in the North.
Their contributions have increased community involvement of the schools on the west side of the division. With their support, we have been able to bring in outside educators to teach our students valuable skills that they can use into their future careers. This collaboration supports both PRSD’s and the County’s goal of having successful young adults to take on key positions in local communities after graduation.
Because of the County’s generosity, students have been exposed to projects and courses such as autobody, welding, carpentry, culinary arts, high school first responders, hunter education, and agribusiness.
We appreciate everything the County has done for our schools and students, and we can’t thank them enough for their continued support. PRSD is grateful to have such an invested partner in education.
Thank you, Clear Hills County!
