PRSD Principals dig deeper into assessment and grading reform
PRSD Principals met today at Central Operations in Grimshaw for their monthly professional development meeting. The morning kicked off with a presentation by Fairview Jr./Sr. High School Principal Sherri MacDowall and Hines Creek Composite School Principal Janice Charchuk. Together, they led the group through a interactive presentation on the topic of assessment and grading reform.
During the discussion, Principals had the opportunity to discuss with their colleagues the meaning of assessment literacy, assessment and grading and then further explore the idea of what it means for teachers to provide meaningful grades to their students. Throughout the conversation, Principals were encouraged to continue learning and developing the team's shared commitment to grading reform, and leading their school teams with clarity, creditbility and coherence.
