Peace Regional Outreach Campus Students Gain Powerful Real-World Perspective at St. Isidore R.I.S.K. Program
Earlier today, students from the Peace Regional Outreach Campus traveled to St. Isidore to participate in the R.I.S.K. (Reducing Injury and Supporting Knowledge) Program, an immersive initiative designed to educate high school students about the serious consequences of risky behaviors.
A Realistic, Impactful Experience
The centerpiece of the day was a highly realistic mock crash simulation. Local emergency services - including local fire departments, ambulance personnel, and law enforcement agencies - arrived on scene to demonstrate the intense, step-by-step reality of a serious collision response.
Following the simulation, students engaged in a series of discussions exploring the long-term physical, emotional, and social impacts of acquiring a permanent injury or disability.
Community Appreciation
The Peace Regional Outreach Campus extends a heartfelt thank you to Emily from Alberta Health Services, as well as the dedicated local volunteers and emergency service personnel whose time and effort made this event possible. Their commitment ensures local youth are equipped with the knowledge needed to make safe, responsible decisions every day.
