Peace River School Division (PRSD) has now begun community consultation meetings throughout the division. The PRSD initiative, “Conversations Toward Student Success” supports two way discussions, gathers the community’s voice, discusses educational topics and fosters strong community relationships.

Whitelaw School Closure Review - Board Passes First Reading |

Whitelaw School Closure Review Documents, Information and Communication are available here for the public.
At the regular board meeting held on February 16, 2010, the Board of Trustees approved first reading of the School Closure Review initiated at Whitelaw Elementary School. A second reading will be voted on March 16, 2010. The review is being initiated under policy 7.12 because school enrolment is below 35 students and the school is facing difficulty maintaining a viable school budget.
“This is a difficult and emotional situation” says Nan Bartlett, PRSD Board Chair. “The children of Whitelaw are an important part of our school community and the Board of Trustees is committed to making decisions based on the best interests of all students. |
