💙💛 FHS Students Help Shape the Future of Recreation in Fairview!

Parent Information, School Events Recap, Sports & Athletics |

Our students had the opportunity to participate in a presentation with Maxwell Harrison from Expedition Management Consulting, who is working with the Town of Fairview on its Community Facilities and Recreation Strategies.

A big thank you to Mrs. Fraser for organizing this opportunity and to the Town of Fairview for funding and arranging the presentation!

Mrs. Fraser’s CALM and Leadership classes, along with Mrs. Schur’s Grade 10 PE class, brainstormed ideas around the question:

“What improved, enhanced, or new recreation facilities are needed in your community?”

Students worked together to share ideas and vote for their top three choices using coloured dots:

Red – First choice

Green – Second choice

Blue – Third choice

Some of the top ideas included modernizing the hockey rink or building a new multiplex. And, of course, we can’t forget the fun suggestions… like MCDONALDS!

Students also asked thoughtful questions about funding, profitability, and how much the Town might invest in youth-driven ideas, showing they were thinking about the bigger picture of community recreation.

Have your own ideas? If you’d like to learn more or share your thoughts on the future of recreation in Fairview, contact Maxwell at Maxwell@expeditionconsulting.ca.

We’re proud to see our students getting involved, thinking critically, and contributing their voices to the future of our community. Their ideas and perspectives matter, and this was a great opportunity for them to be heard!
