Provincial Day of Mourning Information
In solemn recognition of Her late Majesty, the Government of Alberta recently announced that Monday, September 19, 2022, will be a provincial day of mourning.
In alliance with this, all Peace River School Division schools will remain open, and classes will continue as scheduled. Age-appropriate activities may take place to honour Queen Elizabeth II.
Schools may commemorate the passing of Her late Majesty by observing a moment of silence or discussing her life and public service in the classroom. The province will also be live-streaming a ceremony at the Alberta Legislature at 10:00 am and schools are invited to participate via the online link which is available at:
