New principal at École Springfield Elementary School
Peace River School Division is pleased to announce the appointment of Mrs. Gail McNabb as Principal for École Springfield Elementary School effective with the start of the 2021-2022 school year.
Mrs. McNabb received her Bachelor of Education from the University of Alberta in 1984. Throughout the course of her educational career, she has consciously chosen to participate in current research based professional development which has significantly improved her knowledge and skills as an educator. Having held numerous leadership and management positions has provided her with the skill set required to accept the responsibilities of this new role. Mrs. McNabb has been the Vice Principal at École Springfield Elementary School from August 30, 2017 to present.
Prior to her leadership roles, Gail spent seven years as an Assessment Facilitator and Divisional Learning Coach with Peace River School Division, which were an asset in terms of developing leadership, team building and facilitation skills. One of the strengths built upon during this time, was her ability to develop positive and respectful relationships with all stakeholders across the division. Another skill developed was the ability to work in a collaborative setting and move a group forward towards a common goal. She was fortunate to have spent this time researching, participating in and facilitating professional learning around a variety of best practices. Some of these included balanced assessment, differentiated instruction, effective classroom management, technology integration, leadership, implementation of the math curriculum and literacy instruction.
