PRSD Students Participate & Help Lead "Healthy Active School Symposium"

Ten Peace River School Division (PRSD) schools participated in the Healthy Active School Symposium yesterday (October 23, 2013). Hundreds of students gathered to learn skills, knowledge and resources to address school health issues such as physical activity, healthy eating and creating positive social environments.

Peace River High School’s “League of Leadership” (LOL) group kicked off the day with a keynote about the benefits of leadership. The LOL’s also led a workshop “Ice-breakers and Energizers” that provides ways to encourage student participation in activities at school.

Partners in the event include Alberta Health Services, Ever Active Schools, Health and Physical Education Council of the Alberta Teachers' Association, Be Fit For Life Centre, APPLE Schools and the Alberta Healthy School Community Wellness. Learn more HERE.
