New Principal at Red Earth Creek School
Peace River School Division is pleased to announce the appointment of Mr. Erin Reilly to the position of Principal of Red Earth Creek School beginning with the 2019-2020 school year.
Erin received his Bachelor of Education degree in April 2015 from the University of Calgary (U.of C.). Prior to that, he obtained his Bachelor of Arts degree with a major in Economics as well as other Certifications from Mount Royal University (Arts & Science), ICAL Teacher Training (TESEI/TEFL), and SAIT (Production Accountant). Erin continued his Graduate Studies at the U. of C. achieving a Certificate in Interdisciplinary Research. He will complete the Neuropsychology Diploma Program in June of this year, as well as, complete his Master of Educational Psychology in Interdisciplinary Research in June of 2020.
Erin has been Acting Principal at Red Earth Creek School since November 26, 2018 and will continue in this role until the end of the 2018-2019 school year. In addition to his formal studies, Erin has participated in professional development and training activities that broaden his teaching expertise and are well aligned with Peace River School Divisions’ (PRSD) goals. These programs include but are not limited to, Animated Literacy, Fountas & Pinnell Literacy, Response Ability Pathways and “Blanket Exercise” history from an indigenous perspective.
Erin has extensive international experience teaching English Language Learning both, at the high school and adult student levels. This, coupled with his educational achievements, makes him a well-rounded educator who understands the challenges of the job. As he continues his Graduate Studies, Erin will fulfill his interest toward furthering student learning.
In his leisure time, Erin enjoys coaching, photography, travelling and camping, and living in the north provides him with an excellent opportunity to put his hobbies into practice.
