PRSD hires Assistant Superintendent of Human Resources
Peace River School Division is pleased to announce the appointment of Mr. Adam Murray to the position of Assistant Superintendent Human Resources effective August 1, 2018.
Adam has been employed with Peace River School Division since 2011 when he commenced his role as Acting Principal at Whitelaw Academy. He was instrumental in guiding the school through the closure process and transitioning students and parents to a new school community. Adam moved on to become the Principal at Hines Creek Composite School for the period 2012 – 2014, Principal of Kennedy Elementary from 2014 to 2017 as well as Principal of Grimshaw Jr/Sr. High School for the period 2016 to 2017. In September of 2017, Adam assumed the role of Principal at Grimshaw Public School, successfully leading the school as they embarked on their new partnership venture with the Grimshaw Shared School Project and engaging community stakeholders through effective communication strategies.
Prior to his involvement with Peace River School Division, Adam was a teacher with the Edmonton Public School Board at two schools from 2002 – 2011.
Since 2005, Adam has also carried the rank of Lieutenant with the Army Primary Reserves having served in Kandahar Afghanistan in 2010 as a Human Intelligence Operator and most recently provided wildfire assistance in B.C. during August of 2017 as part of the Op Lentus Natural Disasters in Canada.
Adam holds a Bachelor of Education – Secondary, 2002 and received a Master of Education in Educational Leadership and School Improvement, 2014, both from the University of Alberta.
