Grand Opening celebration for Grimshaw Shared School Facility
For immediate release
September 12, 2017 - With great excitement, the Town of Grimshaw, Peace River School Division and Holy Family Catholic Regional Division warmly invite the public to the Grand Opening of the Grimshaw Shared School Facility on Friday September 22, 2017 at the Mile Zero Regional Multiplex (4609 – 50 St Grimshaw).
The Grand Opening ceremony will begin at 10:00am in the fieldhouse with students, staff, parents, community members and special guests in attendance. The ceremony will include a traditional ribbon cutting and greetings from special guests and elected officials. Cupcakes and refreshments will follow the ceremonies, and facility tours that include both schools, shared spaces and the Mile Zero Regional Multiplex facilities will begin at 1:30pm.
The successful completion of this project would not be possible without the many community members and organizations who contributed in a variety of ways to ensure that this facility would meet the needs of students and the community. This ground-breaking facility is unlike any other design-build project in Alberta and will be a central hub in the Grimshaw community for generations to come.
The Grimshaw Shared School Facility, attached to the Mile Zero Regional Multiplex, brings two new schools, a shared atrium, public library, community theatre, and two Career Technology Studies spaces to the community. This facility, originally announced in December 2013, is now complete and the three partners are eager to welcome Grimshaw and area residents and special guests to the Grand Opening to share in the excitement, and tour the beautiful facility.
