Centralization of Services update - Board defers presentation of information to April 18 board meeting

During the regular board meeting held on March 7, 2017, trustees approved to defer the presentation of information relating to a possible centralization of Peace River School Division’s (PRSD) Central Office and Support Service offices to the April 18, 2017 regular board meeting.

The board agreed to defer the presentation of information to the April 18 board meeting to allow management staff to gather all the information required and requested by the board of trustees.

At the February 7, 2017 regular board meeting, trustees directed management to bring back information regarding the real estate value of the Fairview Support Services building, and assurance that in the event that all PRSD’s support offices were to centralize in one location, that the transportation and facility needs of the western part of the division could be accommodated. Trustees also directed Superintendent Bennett to engage in conversations with the Town of Peace River’s Chief Administrative Officer to discuss opportunities for partnership.

Those wishing to make presentations to the board at the April 18, 2017 regular board meeting are to contact Denise Fortier before April 13, 2017. The presentation of information will take place at 1:00 pm at the PRSD Central Office board room and the public is welcome to attend.
